With the original The Hangover being the number 1 top US grossing R-rated comedy of all time, it's no surprise that box office soothsayers are predicting that The Hangover Part II will soon takes it's place somewhere in the list of top ten rated R comedy champs.

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that The Hangover Part II is tracking so well it may be on it's way to opening at or above $100 million, which would set an all time record for an R-rated film.
Because of the Memorial Day Weekend, the film, which reunites stars Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha, has the advantage of an extra day.
It even higher pre-interest scores than Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which claimed $90.1 million in pirate booty domestically over the weekend.
The last film that opened to $100 million or more was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I which conjured up a magical $125 million, but that film wasn't R-rated.

As previously reported, tattoo artist S. Victor Whimill tried to delay release of The Hangover Part II with a copyright lawsuit claiming that the Maori-inspired facial tattoo he gave Mike Tyson was illegally reproduced on the face of Ed Helms. Well, looks like Mike and his tattoo artist got knocked out- the court has ruled in favor of Warner Brothers.
With the film tracking to shatter domestic box-office records, Warner is obviously very pleased with the decision. As am I.
So if you were worried you might not be permitted to see the Alan Garner and the Wolfpack get into trouble in Thailand this weekend, worry no more. Just prepare yourself for a good hangover...

S. Victor Whitmill, the tattooist who gave boxer Mike Tyson his Maori-inspired facial tattoo, filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. that might disrupt the release of The Hangover Part II. In the film Stuart, (Ed Helms) wakes up with an amnesia inducing hangover and a tattoo just like Tyson’s.
Whitmill is claiming copyright infringement and said in the lawsuit, as quoted by the New York Times, that he’s “never been asked for permission for, and has never consented to, the use, reproduction or creation of a derivative work based on his original tattoo.”
On Friday, Warner Bros. responded in court that Whitmill’s claim has no legal precedent and falled under ‘”fair use”, (because it's a parody).
